Connells Point house sale sets St George record

A waterfront house at Connells Point has set a new benchmark for the area, proving that the cost-of-living crisis certainly isn't a worry for some. The single-level property at 14-16 Bowden Crescent sold one day before it was due to auction on Saturday, July 19.

With a price guide of over $18 million, the four-bedroom dwelling achieved a record for waterfronts on the Georges River, Connells Point and the St George region.

While tight-lipped about the house's selling price, Highland agent Mitchell Wynn said the buyers were a family. He said the house was for sale for the first time in 33 years and attracted plenty of bites. "We had about 300 enquiries. There was a lot of interest and inspections for a property of this calibre and price point," he said.

"The top end of the market has been performing well this winter," Mr Wynn said. "People want land size. You can't normally get one as big as this one on Bowden, unless you buy two homes, knock down and build over it."
